Dennis Gyomber is a General Urologist with a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, using the latest surgical technology. Dennis trained at the University of Melbourne, with his clinical component through Austin Health, later furthering his expertise with a Post-Graduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy (Melbourne Private University). During his surgical training, Dennis collaborated with research through the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine in identifying the causes of adverse events during surgery.

Dennis completed his research Fellowship in the newest surgical techniques of robotics & laparoscopic surgery and using the Greenlight laser. In learning these techniques, Dennis traveled to Sunnyville, USA, and Sydney to complement his tutelage through Epworth Eastern Hospital & Austin Health.

Dennis now consults privately with patients at John Fawkner Hospital, Northpark Private Hospital, and Shepparton Private Hospital where he uses the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dennis was instrumental in the purchase of the latest laser technology for minimally invasive kidney stone treatment at John Fawkner and Northpark Hospitals.

Dennis has public appointments as a Consultant Urologist at Austin Health and The Northern Hospital. At The Northern Hospital, Dennis was responsible for introducing minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical techniques for prostate cancer. He was also contracted by Royal Hobart Hospital to assist the surgeons to introduce laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

Through his Fellowship training and ongoing clinical practice, Dennis has gained specific expertise in the use of the Greenlight laser technology in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dennis was a panel member and presenter for the 2012 National Conference workshop for Photoselective Vaporisation of Prostate (PVP), and was the co-ordinator of the 2012 Greenlight Laser Prostatectomy workshop for fellow Urologists and Urology trainees.

Dennis contributes to the training of medical students and young doctors. He is a tutor with the University of Melbourne, and workshop supervisor and clinical examiner with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons for the Surgical Education and Training (SET) program. Dennis has provided proctorship for fellow Urologists upskilling in minimally invasive surgery techniques. Additionally, he provides educational presentations for GPs, urology peers, and the community.

Dennis is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the European Association of Urology.
