Deniz Balci MD

In 2022, Prof. Dr. Deniz Balci settled in Istanbul as the Chair of the Department of Surgery and Organ Transplantation at Bahcesehir University Medical School. His main interests include advanced hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer surgery, as well as sophisticated techniques in live donor liver transplantation for both pediatric and adult patients.

Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı has developed and published techniques for liver regeneration in staged cancer and organ transplantation surgery, such as cancer operations and the Rapid Procedure in live donor liver transplantation for patients with cirrhosis. Dr. Balcı and his team have developed and published transplant techniques such as heterotopic partial liver transplantation for infants. Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı has also developed a special software called Livervision, which is used for 3D visualization and surgical planning of the liver, and is currently utilized in many centers across Europe and America.
