Dr. Dempsey Hughes is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is also a transplant hepatologist at the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC) at Northwestern University. Her clinical interests include management of chronic liver disease secondary to advanced heart disease and she is the co-lead faculty of the Combined Heart-Liver Clinic at Northwestern University. Dr Hughes is also actively engaged in research on peri-transplant management strategies to optimize post-transplant patient outcomes and is a founding member of the multidisciplinary CTC Quality Consortium to promote quality of care in abdominal solid organ transplantation.
