Dr. Deepak Ranjan Nayak, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. Prior to joining NIT Jaipur, he worked as an Assistant Professor at NIT Surat and as a Post Doctoral Fellow at IIITDM Kancheepuram, India. His current research interests include medical image analysis and classification, machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, and computer vision. He has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals (including IEEE Transactions, ACM Transactions, Elsevier, Springer, etc.) and conferences (including IJCNN, ICIP, EMBC, ICONIP, etc.). One of his papers was included in “ESI Highly Cited Papers”. He has received the 2020 CMES Young Research award from Tech Science Press for outstanding research in computer modeling and simulation. He received International Travel Support from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India in 2017. He has also received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from Computers and Electrical Engineering Journal, Elsevier for the year 2017. He serves as a reviewer of more than 60 peer-reviewed journals including several IEEE Transactions, IET Journals, Elsevier, and Springer Journals.
