Dr. Deepak K. Lachhwani, MBBS, MD, is currently Chief of Neurology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi with keen focus on team building to bring Cleveland Clinic quality of care in various Neurological Subspecialties. Just before this transition, he served as member of Staff of the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, between 2002 and 2014. Dr. Lachhwani completed his Pediatric residency and Neurology residency training at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota and his subspecialty training in Pediatric Epilepsy at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lachhwani’s main clinical interest has been in treating children, adolescents and young adults with medically refractory epilepsy, functional neuroimaging and epilepsy surgery. His research interests revolve around these fields with specific reference to clinical outcomes after epilepsy surgery. He expands the sphere of medical care provided to children with seizures at Cleveland Clinic by directing the activities of the “Pediatric Epilepsy Support Group” which offers a unique platform for educating and supporting families of these children.

Over past several years, the Epilepsy Center has collaborated actively with several medical institutions in sharing know how to optimize care for epilepsy patients. Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Partnerships was launched in January 2012. Dr. Lachhwani served as Head of Section of Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Partnerships to streamline these efforts.

Dr. Lachhwani is a member of the American Epilepsy Society (AES), having served as Editor of AES News, and a committee member for the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). He is also a member of the Child Neurology Society, American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM).
