Deepak K. Lachhwani, MD, is the Chief of Neurology in the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He brings US-based Cleveland Clinic experience in various neurological subspecialties.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Lachhwani served as an Epileptologist in the Epilepsy Center at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, US, since 2002. Dr. Lachhwani also served as Head of Section of Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Partnerships, identifying medical centers which offer a cultural fit, with the goal to foster a synergistic and vibrant partnerships.
While in medical school, Dr. Lachhwani earned a Distinguished Services Award for patient care at the time of the Union Carbide methyl-isocyanate (MIC) gas tragedy in Bhopal in December 1984, subsequently maintaining a high honors student position in the Dean’s list at the Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal India. He received a Dean’s Award at Weatherhead School of Management for his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) academic achievements and was nominated for membership to the Beta Gamma Sigma Society in 2014.
