He spearheaded the Integrated Research on Neuroscience (IRoN) initiative, establishing a biosafety level 2 (BSL2) laboratory to support his team’s cutting-edge research.
His steadfast focus of Dr. Dutta is steering three flagship projects funded by SKAN Research Trust: (i) the “HASP (Heart Attack and Stroke Predictability) Tool” program (2024-present), a pilot study aiming to develop a risk prediction tool for stroke and heart attacks; (ii) the “Stem Cell-Based Neuropathy Management Program” (2022-present), which investigates mesenchymal stem cells and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for neuropathy treatment; and (iii) a vascular case-control study (2025-present) exploring risk factors for cardiovascular diseases like ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction.
Dr. Dutta completed his split-site Commonwealth doctoral research at the Department of Human Genetics, National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), India, and the Institute of Infection and Global Health, University of Liverpool, UK. His PhD research focused on neuroimmunological profiling of Guillain-Barré syndrome, showcasing his deep commitment to Translational Neuroscience. With BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees, along with two years of postdoctoral experience, Dr. Dutta has published extensively, supervised students, organized scientific events, and peer-reviewed articles, books, and conference proceedings. He has nine years of academic and research experience in Translational Neuroscience and has been honored with awards such as the Commonwealth Scholarship (UK), Developing Country Award (USA), AWSAR Award (India), and ICGEB Best Talk Honor (Sri Lanka).
