Deborah Kowal MA, PA

Ms. Kowal, a medical writer and editor specializing in communications on women’s reproductive health, maternal mortality, and infant survival, consults for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and other health organizations. For more than 20 years, she has written the Public Health section in WorldBook Encyclopedia’s Science Year Annuals. Trained as a physician assistant, Ms. Kowal provided clinical care at the University of Michigan’s Health Services, where she developed an interest in the specialized fields of women’s health. She is the Executive Editor of Contraceptive Technology and its derivative works.
