Debora Davidson have been an occupational therapist for over 35 years, during which time I have had the good fortune to practice and grow in a variety of clinical and academic settings.

In June 2011, I left a full time faculty position to pursue a decades-long dream of opening a private practice. Bright Futures in Focus serves adults with special needs who want to have more vibrant, involved, and meaningful lives. I help my clients to identify their goals relative to productive activity at home, career development, friends, and leisure, and then I locate places and opportunities that will match each client's unique preferences and needs. I love having the autonomy to serve clients in creative and effective ways, and seeing their joy when their lives transform.

In 2015 I founded Authentic Occupational Therapy, Inc. to guide and support other OT practitioners in their quest to provide occupationally-focused, client-centered, holistic, real-world, and evidence-based (i.e. "authentic") OT services via private practice or within traditional settings. I consult to OTs and OTAs, host a Face Book page, write a blog and present webinars and in-person to bring fresh ideas and encouragement to those who want to practice OT in to its fullest.

In 2018 I started Authentic OT Educators, a dynamic on-line community of practice to promote connections between fellow academicians who want to share and gather tips and ideas for effective teaching and mutual support. If you are an OT program director, professor, instructor, or adjunct instructor, please join us!
