Dr. Tripp joined the Department of Psychology at Queen’s in 2001 (also appointed to Depts of Anesthesiology & Urology). Dr. Tripp is a Clinical Consultant & active researcher. Dr. Tripp was awarded the Canadian Pain Society Early Career Award (2008) for his research and the Excellence in Interprofessional Education Award (2011) for his workshop delivery and development efforts. Dr. Tripp has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters research examining community chronic pain experience and depression as well as Chronic Prostatitis in men and Painful Bladder Syndrome / Interstitial Cystitis in women (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010). Dr. Tripp's research and clinical interests have always focused on health (e.g., chronic pain), stress and interpersonal adjustment. He has researched broad issues of including psychological factors involved in disability following soft tissue injury (e.g., whiplash), gender differences in pain, pain/disability following a work injury and cognitive models of distress and optimism.
