Dawn OwenMD, PhD
Dr. Owen joined the University of Michigan faculty in 2013 after completing an SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy) fellowship at the Mayo Clinic where she completed outcomes and dosimetric research for lung and spine tumours treated with SBRT. She became involved with the radiation oncology lung cancer research group in 2013 and wrote a Phase II clinical trial that is currently enrolling to investigate the late effects of central lung SBRT on lung function and cardiac function.
Dr Owen is one of the leaders of the liver radiation research group and helps to oversee multiple clinical trials including adaptive radiotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma and a new trial randomizing patients to microwave ablation vs. SBRT for small unresectable hepatocellular carcinomas. She also participates in the delivery of Y90 radioembolization and is interested in these outcomes as well for various intrahepatic malignancies.
