Dawn M. Bravata, MD, is a core investigator of the CHIC, the clinical coordinator of the HSR&D Stroke QUERI, a Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine, a research scientist at the Regenstrief Institute, and a practicing general internist. The fundamental goal of Dr. Bravata’s research is to improve the care and outcomes for patients with complex medical needs.
She has conducted both multi-site randomized clinical trials and large observational cohorts. Her work has examined the quality of care received by patients with vascular disease, the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for patients with acute ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA), and the implementation of programs to improve care for patients with complex medical needs including the application of health system engineering methods to improve care for Veterans.
