Davis P. Viprakasit received his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL where he also completed his urologic residency. After completing residency, Dr. Viprakasit completed a Laparoscopy, Robotics and Endourology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor with the UNC Department of Urology in 2011.
Dr. Viprakasit specializes in all facets of kidney stone disease, from diagnosis and surgical treatment to medical prevention. He also has a clinical interest in new technologies for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and bladder outlet obstruction. Through collaborations with the Division of Nephrology and Nutrition Services in the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Viprakasit helped develop and serves as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Kidney Stone Program to address the kidney health concerns of high risk patients.
