David Turkewitz MD

Dr. David Turkewitz is a general pediatrician with expertise in newborn care, care of hospitalized children, emergency medicine, and child abuse and neglect. Dr. Turkewitz is a past president of the Pennsylvania American Academy of Pediatrics. He has served on several statewide child advocacy work groups and committees and maintains a current appointment to the Pennsylvania Attorney General Advisory Board on Child Abuse.

Dr. Turkewitz has received many awards including Bela Schick Award for Excellence in Pediatrics, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, 1978; Nettie and Charles Ritter Award, Senior Resident Teacher of the year, 1981; Pediatric Teaching award, Geisinger Medical Center 1985 Family Practice Teaching award, Geisinger Medical Center, 1984 and 1986; Emergency Medicine Teaching Award, Geisinger Medical Center, 1993 American Heart Association Award for local service, 1994; Penn State Child Health Advocacy award, 2008, York Daily Record 2012, People Who Make a Difference; YMCA volunteer of the year 2013; Central Penn Parent's Healthcare Heroes Award, Physician of the Year, 2014; Pennsylvania American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatrician of the Year Award, 2014.
