David Sochart

Dr. David Sochart is Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at North Manchester General Hospital Arthroplasty Unit, specialising in lower limb arthroplasty, minimally invasive techniques and the management of arthritis in young patients. He was previously Consultant at Princess Mary Rose Orthopaedic Hospital in Edinburgh and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.

Dr. David says: “It’s a great honour to be invited to work with the rest of the team. It provides the chance to get more involved in training and research and establish further links with other universities as well as internationally. I’m also interested in developing multidisciplinary training which is accessible to junior and senior orthopaedic medics, physiotherapists and other health care professionals.”

Dr. David lectures both nationally and internationally and has been invited to operate abroad in countries such as India, Hong Kong and Korea. He has published over 70 articles in peer review journals and has contributed chapters to text books. He is also interested in research and education and regularly hosts conferences both in the UK and abroad.

Dr. David is Vice Chairman of the British Medical Association (BMA) for Manchester and Salford, and Regional Co-ordinator for the National Joint Registry.
