David Sahner MD

David Sahner focuses on pursuing research opportunities at the nexus of computational science with systems biology and precision medicine, and within the domains of neuroinformatics, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. He is a board certified internist with over 15 years of industry and non-profit-based experience in drug/biologic/device research and development across several therapeutic areas, along with nearly ten years of clinical practice following the completion of fellowship training at Brown University.

Sahner has led, participated in teams, or managed individuals responsible for projects across a variety of domains, including infectious diseases, vaccines and vaccine adjuvants, immune-based therapy, oncology, neuroscience, and medical countermeasures, spanning all phases of R&D from research through post-licensure.

Prior to joining SRI, Sahner was principal at Aeneas Medical Consulting, where he provided biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients with services such as clinical strategy, protocol development, and product evaluation focused on virology, infectious diseases, and immunology. Earlier, he was vice president of clinical development at Nektar Therapeutics. In that role, he was responsible for clinical development, and clinical support for discovery and research programs.
