David S. Weinberg MD, MSc

David S. Weinberg, MD, MSc, serves as the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Director of Gastroenterology. Appointed Department Chair in 2008, he is a Senior Member of both the Medical Science and Population Science Divisions.

His research centers on the prevention and control of gastrointestinal malignancies with a particular interest in biomarkers potentially relevant to colorectal and esophageal cancers and in novel methods to promote cancer screening utilization. He currently holds research support from the National Institutes of Health, the pharmaceutical industry, and philanthropic organizations. He continues to maintain an active clinical practice in general gastroenterology.
