David Robbins Tien BA, MD

David Robbins Tien currently works at the Division of Ophthalmology, Brown University. David does research in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. His most recent publication is 'Inferior Oblique Belly Transposition for Small Angle Hypertropia With Inferior Oblique Overaction: A Pilot Study.Dr. Tien graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School. He is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist, and completed his ophthalmology residency at New York University and his fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. He founded Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Associates in 1993 and was chief of ophthalmology at Hasbro Children's Hospital for 20 years.

Dr. Tien is also an associate clinical professor at Brown University Department of Ophthalmology. He has hospital appointments at Rhode Island Hospital, Hasbro Children's Hospital, and Women and Infants' Hospital, and has been named a Rhode Island "Top Doc" numerous times. Dr. Tien has lectured around the country and throughout the world on pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and is the author of numerous scholarly publications in the field.
