David R Kaplan MD, Ph.D

Dr. David Kaplan graduated with an A.B. in Biology from the University of Chicago in 1974. He later went on to earn a Ph.D. in Immunology and a M.D. in Medicine. His residency was in Pathology at Washington University from 1980 until 1984. In 1984 he came to Case's Department of Pathology as an Assistant Professor. From 1984 to 2000, Dr. Kaplan directed the Immunology Laboratories at University Hospitals of Cleveland and since 2007 he has directed the Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. In 2009 Dr. Kaplan became the Director of the Pathology Residency Program and in 2012 he was named to the Graduate Medical Education Council at University Hospitals. He is a Professor of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University.
