David Pritchard is the Vice President: Africa and Developing Countries of Asia, at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Pritchard leads the company’s Pharmaceutical business in 44 countries across Sub-Sahara Africa, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Papua New Guinea.
For the past 28 years, he has served in various positions of increasing responsibility at GSK in the UK, Eastern Europe and Emerging Markets / Asia Pacific.
David’s broad experience, ability to build and lead high performance teams has seen him deliver strong commercial success as General Manager: GSK Ukraine, Area General Manager: Developing Markets Eurasia and Vice President & General Manager: South Africa, among others.
In November 2009, David joined ViiV Healthcare as Vice President: International Region where he led company activity across all countries excluding North America and Europe. ViiV — a unique partnership between GSK, Pfizer and Shinogi — is an independent, global specialist HIV company established with the commitment to deliver innovative new options for the care and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS. David served as a member of ViiV’s Global Executive Team until March 2016 when he took up his current assignment.
David Pritchard is passionate about unlocking Africa’s potential through healthcare, and sees GSK as a key contributor in the positive transformation of the continent’s health status and economic development.
