David Poon BSc, PhD

David is the Vice President of Business Development and Alliance Management at Zymeworks and he is leading the business development and alliance management group responsible for product commercialization and strategic in and out-licensing, search and evaluation, competitive intelligence, and alliance management. During his tenure at Zymeworks David led a number deals with multinationals including Johnson & Johnson Innovations, Celgene, Eli Lilly, and Daiichi Sankyo with total deal size in excess of $5B. David also established key partnerships with academic institutions, government organizations (e.g. NRC), and other contract research organizations. David was also involved in key scientific contributions relating to Zymeworks’ Azymetric™ and AlbuCORE™ bispecific/multispecific platforms. David received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia.
