David Mittelman PhD

David is Chief Scientific Officer at Tute Genomics. Previously, he was co-founder at Arpeggi, Inc. a genomics startup that built technology to manage and analyze the massive datasets produced by next-generation sequencers. His startup built the Genomics Comparison and Analytic Testing (GCAT) platform, a free resource that enables anyone to performance test open-source and commercial genome analysis tools. Arpeggi was acquired in 2013 by Gene by Gene, Ltd. and David briefly joined the company as CSO to develop clinical and direct-to-consumer genetic tests.

David holds a PhD in Molecular Biophysics from Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to graduate school, he was a research staff member at the McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he contributed to the first Human Genome Project and developed two of the first microarray technologies there. David completed his postdoctoral training in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at BCM.
