David M. Poppers MD, PhD

David M. Poppers, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in advanced endoscopy and complex digestive diseases. At NYU Langone Health, he serves as Director of GI Quality and Strategic Initiatives and provides expert care in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, biliary and pancreatic disorders, and general gastroenterology.

Dr. Poppers earned both his MD and PhD from New York University, completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and pursued fellowship training in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.

Recognized for his patient-centered and multidisciplinary approach to care, Dr. Poppers is actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and physician training. His academic interests include interventional endoscopy, pancreaticobiliary diseases, small bowel disorders, and innovations in gastrointestinal therapeutics. He has authored numerous publications and lectured nationally on advanced endoscopic techniques and gastrointestinal disease management.
