David L. Longworth BA, MD

David L. Longworth, MD is Chair of the Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic. He received his undergraduate degree from Williams College and his medical school degree from Weill Cornell University Medical College. He completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco followed by fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s and Beth Israel Hospitals. Dr. Longworth joined the Cleveland Clinic in 1986 as a staff physician in the Department of Infectious Diseases. From 1992–2002 he served as Chair of the Department. He subsequently moved to Baystate Medical Center, the western campus of Tufts University School of Medicine, where he served as Chair of the Department of Medicine and as Professor and Deputy Chair of the Department of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. He returned to the Cleveland Clinic as Chair of the Medicine Institute.
