David Kerrigan FRCS, FRCSEd, MBChB, MD (Hons)

Professor Kerrigan is an internationally renowned bariatric surgeon and an acknowledged expert in his field. His views have appeared in the national press and have been broadcast by BBC, ITV and Sky News, on ITV’s This Morning, Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and Today programmes and in TV documentaries about obesity surgery on ITV and C4. He has acted as an expert advisor in bariatrics for the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Surgeons and the Irish Medical Council.

David was a Founder Member, ex-secretary (and is a current Council member) for the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society.

He was awarded the title of Visiting Professor by the University of Chester in 2011 in recognition of his contribution to the field of bariatric surgery and was also awarded a Syme Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
