David Karol MD

Dr. David Karol is a dually trained internist and psychiatrist at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC). He completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University and a combined residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. At UCMC, he serves as the vice-chair of clinical services in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. He has a secondary appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Karol’s clinical interests include consultation-liaison psychiatry, general internal medicine, integrated medical and psychiatric care, HIV psychiatry, bioethics, and treatment of individuals involved with the criminal justice system. He is involved in medical student and residency education in both clinical departments as well as research in the fields of consultation-liaison and HIV psychiatry.
