David Reisman is the Associate Director of the Center for Disaster Medicine and the Senior Administrative Director of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. In this role, he coordinates the disaster preparedness and response program for Mass General, a 1,000-bed tertiary care academic medical center. Working with physician and nursing colleagues, as well as representatives from various hospital departments, David helps ensure the institution is appropriately prepared to manage emergency situations in a way that minimizes impact to patient care and daily operations.

David has administrative leadership responsibility for all areas of the program including hazard identification and mitigation, plan and exercise development, response management, process improvement and regulatory readiness. He is the co-chair of the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness Committee, Evacuation Advisory Committee, the Partners Healthcare System Emergency Preparedness Committee, and represents the hospital in several local and regional planning coalitions.

David has been a key leader responding to many previous disaster incidents at Mass General and has helped to lead multiple consulting projects related to Emergency Preparedness. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a master’s degree in health care administration from Ohio State University.
