David J. DiCaudo, M.D., is a board-certified dermatopathologist and dermatologist. He is a Professor of Dermatology and Laboratory Medicine/Pathology at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Dr. DiCaudo serves as Chair of the Division of Dermatopathology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

Dr. DiCaudo attended medical school in a six-year combined B.S./M.D. program at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. He completed consecutive residency training programs in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has board certification in dermatopathology, dermatology, and anatomic pathology.

Dr. DiCaudo’s practice focuses on the microscopic interpretation of skin biopsy specimens. His areas of special interest and expertise include the microscopic diagnosis of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, cutaneous B-cell lymphoma, malignant melanoma, and coccidioidomycosis. He has authored 90 scientific manuscripts.

Dr. DiCaudo also has a special interest in education. He served as the dermatology residency program director in Arizona from 2011-2020.  He has received the Teacher of the Year Award from the dermatology residents six times over the past two decades and was named Program Director of the Year in 2018. He currently serves as a leader of the dermatology course for second-year medical students.
