David J. Clark, MD, Ph.D., graduated from Carleton College in 1985. He then attended Vanderbilt University where he received his MD and a Ph.D. in pharmacology. In Seattle he completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Washington in 1996, followed by pain management training from 1996-1998.
Dr. Clark arrived at the VA Palo Alto in 1998 and has been a full-time staff physician since then. He oversees the operation of the Pain Clinic and supervises a research laboratory dedicated to a better understanding of pain and its treatments. The Palo Alto Pain Clinic uses medical, psychological and interventional approaches to control chronic pain.
