Dr. Godfried is an Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. He completed his medical school training in 1991 at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, residency training at the University of Minnesota in 1996, and a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago in 1998.

Dr. Godfried has extensive experience in pediatric surgery, having performed thousands of surgeries in his career. He specializes in the management of childhood and adolescent orthopaedic conditions, many of which are treated non-operatively. His surgical practice is devoted to reconstructive procedures to treat deformity of the spine, hip, knee, foot, extremities, as well as bone fractures, tumors and infections. Dr. Godfried also treats many children with chronic conditions associated with bone and joint problems such as cerebral palsy, arthrogryposis, Marfan syndrome, neurofibromatosis, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy.
