Dr. David H. Chang is Board Certified in advanced heart failure and transplantation, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. He joins the California Heart Center from UCLA, where he also serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine/Division of Cardiology.

Dr. Chang earned his bachelor's degree in immunology from the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his internship and residency at UC Davis and his fellowship training in general cardiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his training in advanced heart failure and transplantation at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. During his advanced training he had the distinction of serving as both Chief Resident and Chief Fellow.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Chang has a strong interest in clinical research and teaching. He has authored several scientific publications, including work on the utility of exercise stress testing in women at risk for cardiovascular disease. His current areas of interest include research on antibody sensitization in heart transplantation and novel methods to assess for post heart transplant rejection.
