David Groneberg MD

David Groneberg is a full professor of medicine. He is chairman of the Institute of Occupational Medicine, Social Medicine & Environmental Medicine, Goethe University Frankfurt. Coming from the field of thoracic medicine, he started his research career focusing on cellular aspects of airway diseases. After promotion to the position of Chair of the Institute of Occupational Medicine at the Charité in Berlin, his focus shifted to aspects of occupational medicine, social medicine, and environmental medicine. He is currently co-leading several research units at his institute together with experienced senior clinical and basic scientists which encompass i.e. health systems and policy research, tropical medicine and public health, air quality research, and sports medicine/prevention.
