David Galbraith received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry from Cambridge University. He was a NATO Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University. Dr. Galbraith's research interests include biological instrumentation, developmental and tissue-specific gene expression in eukaryotes, functional genomics and proteomics, and issues in biodiversity. He was elected a Fellow of the American Association for Advancement of Science in 2002 and serves as Specialty Chief Editor of Frontiers in Genomic Assay Technology. He is also an Associate Editor for Cytometry, and for Plant Methods.

Current funding is being used, with mouse models, to explore early events in gene expression during the development of ductal adenocarcinoma in the pancreas, and during the prostate oncogenesis. He is also funded to develop portable diagnostic devices for infectious diseases. Dr. Galbraith teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels, being responsible for introductory seminars in Plant Sciences and within the Honors College, and for graduate classes in Cell Biology and Genomics methods.

Dr. Galbraith has a long track record of devising novel methods and platforms for the analysis of the different cell types found within complex eukaryotic organisms. He further has a long history of collaborative research activity, research publication, and a 30+ year record of continuous federal funding, from single investigator to complex multi-investigator, multi-institution projects. He provides unique molecular expertise for the study of gene expression in normal development and in diseases such as cancer, focused on biological and biomedical instrumentation.
