Dr. David Bundy earned his MD from the University of Michigan. He then went on to earn his MPH at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Bundy is a Quality and Patient Safety expert and has recently been appointed Chief Patient Safety Officer for the entire MUSC enterprise. He has extensive research training and experience in health services research, quality improvement research, and dissemination and implementation science. His areas of content expertise include sickle cell disease and reducing diagnostic errors in pediatrics. He has received funding from numerous grants, including serving as co-investigator on 3 recent AHRQ R01s related to the quality and safety of ambulatory pediatric care.
