David Foster Gaieski, MD, is a Professor, Vice-Chair for Resuscitation Services, and Director of Emergency Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of the Thomas Jefferson University. His clinical and research expertise focuses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), post-cardiac arrest syndrome (PCAS), extracorporeal CPR (ECPR), and protocolized care for severe sepsis and septic shock. Dr. Gaieski has lectured and published extensively on the optimal clinical management of patients with PCAS and severe sepsis. In addition, he has used large national and international databases to study cardiac arrest and sepsis incidence and mortality.
