Dr. David Sloane listened to his mother when she told him to get up off the couch and get a job, and not to major just in philosophy and mathematics. So he went to medical school and eventually completed a fellowship in allergy and immunology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). For some reason they allowed him to stay on there, where he sees patients with allergic diseases, immunodeficiencies, and a number of psychiatric conditions. He also attends the drug desensitization unit at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and cares for allergy and immunology patients at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center.
