Dr. Beyer studied Electrical Engineering at MIT and subsequently earned his MD from the University of Arizona. He completed back to back residencies in Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona and the University of California, Los Angeles, and is Board Certified in both. While in private practice in his native Arizona, he has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles on prostate cancer, prostate brachytherapy, IMRT, and Health Policy. He has been active in defining the optimal use of radiation technologies and has participated in or chaired both Guideline and Best Practice panels.
He has represented radiation oncology at the CPT Editorial Panel and Relative Value Update Committee of the AMA and has been actively involved in Radiation Oncology policy development throughout the past decade of health care reform. Dr. Beyer is currently Chairman of the Board for the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and has previously served on the Council Steering Committee of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Board of Chancellors for the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO). He is a practicing Radiation Oncologist in Sedona, Arizona.
