David Bunting BSc, MBBS, MSc, FRCS, MD

David Bunting is a consultant upper GI Surgeon at North Devon District Hospital. He completed undergraduate medical training at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals’ Medical School in London. His speciality training included a Trauma Fellowship in Cape Town, South Africa and a Fellowship in specialist Upper GI Surgery in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. David’s post-graduate doctorate thesis investigated the use of biomarkers in predicting response to chemotherapy in patients with oesophageal and gastric cancer. He has research interests in abdominal wall hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery, oesophago-gastric cancer and the provision of surgical training.
