David Baud MD, PhD

David Baud specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, monitoring high-risk pregnancies.He was appointed Full Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) of UNIL on 1 November 2016 and has been in charge of the Obstetrics Department of the new Woman-Mother-Child Department (GMD) since 1 January 2017.David Baud followed with a PhD on the vaccine against cancer of the cervix. He then decided to specialize in gynecology and obstetrics.

Baud spent in London at St. Mary's Hospital, and a stay at Tu Du Hospital in Saigonand trained first at the Necker Hospital, in Paris, then at Mount Sinai in Toronto. Back in Switzerland at the end of 2012, he set up an in utero laser fetal therapy center at the CHUV .David Baud is interested in infections related to pregnancy. He focused on the role of intracellular bacteria during pregnancy. He has developed a special interest in emerging viruses.
