David Barnes PhD, MBA

David Barnes, Ph.D., MBA, is a Dietary Supplement industry veteran and the author of over 40 peer-reviewed articles across a wide array of research topics. He currently leads global research initiatives for the KD Pharma Group Barnes studied animal sciences and nutrition at the University of California at Davis where he earned master’s and doctoral degrees. In 2010, he earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Prior to becoming part of the KD Pharma Group, Barnes spent time in academia as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Arkansas. This was followed by a move to industry as the Director of Research for Standard Process. There he worked closely with production and operations to leverage research principles for process improvements. Barnes then joined Marine Ingredients in an operations role until tapped to lead the research effort following a merger with KD Pharma. Barnes is a frequent speaker at academic and conference events, and is actively involved in industry organizations. He is passionate about health and wellness, is an avid cyclist and cook, and lives with his family in Pennsylvania.
