David H. Ballard, MD, is an assistant professor of radiology in the abdominal imaging section and director of the 3D Printing Lab for Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. An alumnus, Ballard completed both a radiology residency and an abdominal imaging fellowship at MIR, where he was a chief resident. He also completed a T32 research fellowship in the TOP-TIER program. Ballard earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University.

Ballard was the 2017 RSNA Olmsted Editorial Fellow and served as a RadioGraphics subcommittee chair for the RSNA Resident and Fellow Committee. He serves as an associate editor for RadioGraphics, where he leads the trainee editorial board, RG TEAM. Ballard is also an associated editor for 3D Printing in Medicine. With over 100 publications, his research interests include 3D printing in medicine, along with broad interests in abdominal and genitourinary CT and MR imaging.
