Dr. David Miklos, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and Chief of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BMT-CT) Program at Stanford Cancer Institute. He is a leading hematologist and immunologist specializing in blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, with a focus on advanced cellular therapies.
Dr. Miklos’s clinical and research work centers on hematopoietic cell transplantation and immunotherapy, particularly chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. His research aims to enhance cancer treatment by optimizing immune-based approaches—improving graft-versus-tumor effects while reducing complications such as graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
His laboratory has pioneered technologies such as protein microarrays to identify clinically relevant antibodies and has contributed to major therapeutic advances, including clinical trials supporting the use of targeted therapies like rituximab and ibrutinib. His work also played a role in the development of FDA-approved CAR-T therapies for aggressive lymphomas.
Dr. Miklos earned both his MD and PhD in genetics from Yale University and completed his clinical training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With extensive experience in translational research and clinical care, he continues to lead innovations in cancer immunotherapy and stem cell transplantation.
