David Araújo Vilar graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1985 from the University of Santiago de Compostela, after which he graduated five years later. In 2003 Araújo-Vilar created, together with Professor Lado Abel, the Unit of Thyroid and Metabolic Diseases, which currently directs the Endocrinology Service of CHUS with the intention of deepening the investigation of molecular alterations of thyroid tumor pathology and other emerging thyroid syndromes and not studied. Molecular mechanisms give insulin resistance in different metabolic syndromes. In addition, he is the founding president of the Spanish Society of Lipodystrophies.
