David Simpson, DO, is a Michigan native with a passion for helping his patients through neurological disease.  

Dr. Simpson has a special interest in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophies, inflammatory myopathies, and peripheral neuropathy. He is fellowship-trained in electrodiagnostic medicine and has trained more than 200 residents and fellows in the discipline. Passionate about educating about neuromuscular disease, Dr. Simpson has published more than 225 peer-reviewed articles and has lectured extensively around the world.  

"My favorite part of practicing medicine is contributing to my patients’ quality of life and being a part of their support structure and motivation, especially those with complicated, rare, or terminal disease.”  

Dr. Simpson served in the U.S. Army for 18 years and is a retired Lieutenant Colonel; he served as the physician for Special Forces/Special Operations/Delta Force within the 101st Airborne.  

In his free time, Dr. Simpson enjoys spending time with the most important person in his life, his wife of 40 years, who also practices neurology at Munson Healthcare. His hobbies include walking his golden retriever, Yogi, golf, traveling, snowshoeing, photography, and writing.
