David A. Ervin

David A. Ervin, BSc, MBA, is CEO of The Resource Exchange, a Colorado-based nonprofit serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). He has extensive professional experience in the IDD industry, having worked in and/or consulted to organizations in the US and abroad. He is a published author and speaks internationally on healthcare for people with IDD and other areas of expertise. David is Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Public Health, a member of the State of the States in Developmental Disabilities National Advisory Council, and a Governor’s appointee to and elected Chair of the Colorado State Board of Human Services. He is also an appointed member of the International Professional Committee of Beit Issie Shapiro in Raanana, Israel, a member of the International Advisory Committee for the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development in Israel. David’s current research interests includes health promotion and disease prevention for people with IDD. He is co-Principal Investigator on a Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) in Chicago, a project funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research that examines the use of technology to support diet, nutrition and physical activity interventions for obese adults.
