David A. Boothman, Ph.D., is the inaugural Sid and Lois Eskenazi Professor of Oncology and professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at IU School of Medicine. He serves as associate director of translational research at the IU Simon Cancer Center. Dr Boothman is also a co-director of the Experimental and Developmental Therapeutics (EDT) research program at the IU Simon Cancer Center. He is an internationally respected investigator who has focused on the mechanisms and exploitation of cell stress responses in cancer versus normal cells, and his work is supported by four current NIH/NCI awards.

Previously, Dr Boothman held faculty and leadership positions at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center/University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Case Western Reserve University/Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Michigan. He earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Michigan and a doctorate in microbiology and immunology from the University of Miami. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
