Dr Darren Morton is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Business and Science. He has a PhD in human physiology and is passionate about the emerging field of lifestyle medicine. Darren is one of the key presenters for a worldwide lifestyle intervention called CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program) and is researching the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions targeting chronic disease through the Lifestyle Research Centre at Avondale. He has been lecturing at Avondale since 1994.
Darren also has a research interest in the exercise-related abdominal pain, commonly referred to as “stitch,” and is considered the world authority on the condition. Stemming from this and other post-doctoral research, Darren has served as a consultant to commercial bodies, helping in the development of hydration beverages.
Darren has delivered hundreds of presentations on lifestyle-related topics to academic, educational, corporate and community groups throughout Australia and the world. He is passionate about empowering others to live more.
