Dario Russo is a Doctoral Student in the IUSS STAT program with a strong academic background in biotechnology and gene therapy research. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Parma and completed a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Padova, graduating cum laude. During his Master’s thesis internship at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-TIGET) in the laboratory of Professor Luigi Naldini, he gained extensive experience in gene editing and hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy, working alongside leading pioneers in the field. His research is driven by a deep passion for gene editing and its therapeutic potential. Currently, his work focuses on developing innovative gene-editing technologies for the safe integration of large therapeutic cargoes into human cells and on designing strategies for targeted in vivo delivery to the hematopoietic stem cell compartment.
