Dr. Dario Paladini completed his internship at the same University. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1990, always at the Federico II University of Naples. Thereafter, he joined the university's faculty as a research fellow. The period 1990-to 94, he moved to the National Cancer Institute of Milan for training in Gynecologic Oncology. In 1994 he came back to Naples and joined the faculty as a lecturer and, since 2001, as an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

His training has been in the field of maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic oncology. Currently, he is responsible for the Fetal Medicine & Cardiology Unit, being involved in prenatal 2D and 3D diagnosis of congenital heart disease and of fetal anomalies. He is also dedicated to the diagnosis of genetic and non-genetic syndromes in the fetus and, recently he has put up the fetal therapy unit, with laser treatment for TTTS and invasive procedures such as cord-clamping, IT transfusions, and placement of thoracoamniotic shunts. At the same time, he is coordinating the surgical aspects of the Gynecologic Oncology unit in his department.

Prof. Dario Paladini has and continues to contribute extensively to the field of diagnostic ultrasound. So far, he has taught well over 200 national and international ultrasound courses and seminars, and has coordinated the ISUOG activities worldwide as Chair of the Education Committee until 2009; since then, he acts as past chair for the same committee. He has authored more than 150 articles on ultrasound, including original investigations, case reports, reviews, and editorials, published in peer-review journals. He is the author of 4 books, and several book chapters, and composed 2 video-DVD series.
