Dr. Dario Cattaneo was Born in Bergamo on 13 May 1970, he graduated in Pharmacy and specialized in Pharmacology at the University of Milan, subsequently obtaining the title of Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the Open University of London with a thesis entitled “Therapeutic drug Monitoring of Novel Immunosuppressants”. He was a researcher at the Aldo and Cele Daccò Clinical Research Center of the Mario Negri Pharmacological Research Institute in Bergamo from 1997 to 2008, becoming, in 2004, head of the Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics Unit.

Since 2008 he has been a director at the UOSD Clinical Pharmacology, coordinating the activities of the Pharmacokinetics laboratory and, since 2010, he has been a contract professor for the Medical Pharmacology course, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, of the University of Milan (in 2017 he obtained the national scientific qualification, II Band, competition sector 05/G1 Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy).

Dario's research interests include clinical pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug interactions, and optimization of drug therapy, predominantly of antivirals, antibiotics, antifungals, and psychoactive drugs. He has published around 230 articles in peer-reviewed international journals (over 6500 citations) with an H-index of 37 and has been a speaker for around 300 international and national conferences. Since 2020 he has been President-elect of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT).
